Club Rules
Dandenong Ski Club Rules
- No Smoking
- No Boots and Shoes in the lodge. This is a sock/slipper only lodge !
- On arrival, turn up off-peak heat bank units in lower stairwell, lounge and dining rooms.
- Fill in lodge cleanliness report sheet in accommodation book on arrival.
Heating
Only use booster (switch underneath) when stored heat is insufficient. Heat Banks only collect heat in off-peak periods (overnight and all
weekend). Stored-heat heat banks run on low-cost off-peak electricity. Booster heaters use high-cost electricity. Please help the club keep its
cost under control by minimising use of booster heaters.
The heat bank setting dials will only take effect when the off-peak elements become active. Try to set the dials the day before, in
anticipation of your needs.
Note that because the off-peak electricity is on all weekend, the heat banks behave differently at weekends. The optimum settings for weekday
use will make the lodge too hot at weekends.
Bedroom booster heaters only to be used when rooms are occupied. Set thermostat in Degrees C. Bathroom heaters operate with a push-button timer. Ensure all booster heaters are off when leaving the lodge during the day.
Ensure nothing is left to dry directly on top of any heaters (refer photo of the the burning lodge on display).
Suggested Settings:
- First Night of occupancy: MAX for stairwell, 4 for lounge, 3 for
dining room. - Weekdays (heat bank elements function at night only): MAX for
stairwell, 3 for lounge, 2 for dining room. - Weekends (heat bank elements function in day time also): MAX for
stairwell, 2 for lounge, 0 or 1 for dining room.
Drying Room
When Drying Room is switched on, it will run continuously while off-peak power is available (overnight and all weekend). Particularly on
weekends, switch drying room off at the switch or circuit-breaker when it has nothing useful to do.
During weekdays, drying room will run on off-peak power at night only. If drying is required during the day (eg. Lunchtime), use the peak-power
Red Button outside drying room. Avoid using this button in the evening--allow drying room to operate using off-peak power.
Please use allocated sheves for each room to eleviate lost items.
NOTE: The drying room switch at the bottom of the stairs needs replacing. In the meantime use the labelled breaker in the switchboard.
